Just. Look at Grell’s face during this. The coping mechanisms on display here. The betrayal and then the little forced smile just. When I saw this live I was nearly in tears, Akane Liv was already ripping everyones hearts to shreds and then to top it all off with that… Even in the mezzanine you could see the look on Grell’s face and it is just heartbreaking.
Oh yeah, he has this look like, “you gotta be fucking kidding me, what is this sentimental bullshit?” Uehara really nailed the subtlety with this run. Akane Liv elevated an already dramatic performance.
